Day 1:
Here are the photographs from
Costume-Con 32, which was held in Toronto this year. This was my
very first costume/cosplay convention and it was an amazing experience! I've seen examples of cosplay online, and even created a dedicated
Pinterest board for some of my favourite ones I've come across.

On my first day, I decided to go as myself, with my camera and just take in the experience. I got a lot of casual hallway shots and was impressed to see professional photographers with tons of experience photographing cosplay there.
I went with Terri and Nancy who have been to cons before; so it was great having them help me navigate the basics.
Once I realized that MANY of the costumes were hand-made, I was so impressed with the work and dedication that goes into many of these costumes. There are so many aspects of costuming that I hadn't known about before, and I now have a new-found appreciation for the craftsmanship that goes into these outfits.
Here are a few of the costumes I picked up on day 1.
