Homemade Macaroni and Cheese






Original Recipe from Allrecipes.com Homemade Mac and Cheese.

Ingredients



I made a few modifications from the original recipe.
  • 8 ounces of elbow pasta (uncooked)
  • 2 cups shredded cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 3 cups milk
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons of all purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons of butter
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs
  • 1 pinch paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon Mustard

Step-by-Step Instructions


1. Boil uncooked pasta to desired tenderness, drain and set aside:





2. Melt 2.5 tablespoons of butter in a sauce pan on medium heat:


3. Add 2 tablespoons of flour to the mixture:


4. Pour in milk gradually:


5. Add grated cheese and stir until the cheese melts:


6. Pour into casserole dish with the pasta:


7. In a separate sauce pan, melt two tablespoons of butter:


8. Add the breadcrumbs:


9. And Mix:


10: Sprinkle breadcrumbs on top of mac and cheese in the casserole dish.  Put a pinch of paprika on top of the breadcrumbs. Put cheese on top if you wish. Bake in oven at 350 degrees F for 20 minutes.


11. Garnish with Cilantro and enjoy!
